The book was published by the Fisher Pen Company of Forest Park, Illinois & original sold for $1. Inside the book states it was written in memory of American forefather, Thomas Jefferson. The back of the book describes Fisher's program for restoring economic sanity.

Fisher invented and patented the Fisher Space Pen, which is the most lucrative in the history of pens. Fisher also unsuccessfully ran for the Democratic Party presidential nomination in 1960 and 1968. In 1960, he was the only candidate besides John F. Kennedy on the New Hampshire primary ballot, although other candidates were also in the race and on the ballot in other states.
