Quick Overview

This is a napkin or handkerchief handmade in 1944 or 1945 in Belgium, Europe at the end of WWII. The napkin measures 5 3/4" x 6" approximately. It is a pink napkin with a yellow border, and in the bottom corner of the napkin are hand painted flags of USA, China, England, Netherlands & France. Below the flags there is a ribbon painted in the colors of the Belgian flag. It is still in good condition, as it has been contained inside of protective plastic since the 1940s. However, there is some sun fading that is noticeable, and there are also 2 small brown stains along the bottom edge (in the center).

Please Note: The blue dots seen in the photo are on the protective plastic sheet, not on the actual cloth napkin itself!

Product Description

This is a napkin or handkerchief handmade in 1944 or 1945 in Belgium, Europe at the end of WWII. The napkin measures 5 3/4" x 6" approximately. It is a pink napkin with a yellow border, made from some sort of material, I am not sure what. In the bottom corner of the napkin are hand painted flags of USA, China, England, Netherlands & France. Below the flags there is a ribbon painted in the colors of the Belgian flag. This handkerchief was picked up by my great uncle at the end of WWII in Belgium somewhere.
