Product Description

Borden Milk Company 1942 'Buy Defense Bonds Help Uncle Sam!' World War 2 Milk Cap from 1942. The milk cap was made and distributed by the Borden Milk Company which was based out of Columbus, Ohio. The pin has a graphic with the same cow as the Elmer's glue mascot/logo (Elmer's glue, Cracker Jacks, and many other companies are part of the Borden Corporation). The pin reads "Buy DEFENSE BONDS" in a black and red-orange print on a white background. The Elmer's glue cow is nailing in a nail with a hammer. To the right of the cow it said "MILK" and at the bottom of the milk cap it says in small black print "Corp. '42 Borden Co." This is a classic milk cap from the USA home front effort to sell defense bonds & raise money for the war. The milk cap is still in perfect condition, but there is a staple in it. Every copy of this milk cap I have has the staple in the same spot, just above the word milk. Milk cap is approximately 1 1/2" in diameter.
