Quick Overview

This is a large sized puzzle of the front page from the New York Times on May 15, 1948. The headline from the day is "Zionists Proclaim New State of Israel: Truman Recognizes it and Hopes For Peace; Tel Aviv is Bombed, Egypt Orders Invasion". I believe that the puzzle is a 500 piece puzzle. The puzzle has been completed and mounted on a piece of poster board. Completed, the puzzle measures approximately 20" x 13".

Product Description

This is a large sized puzzle of the front page from the New York Times on May 15, 1948. The headline from the day is "Zionists Proclaim New State of Israel: Truman Recognizes it and Hopes For Peace; Tel Aviv is Bombed, Egypt Orders Invasion". I believe that the puzzle is a 500 piece puzzle, but I am not positive. The puzzle has been completed and mounted on a piece of poster board. Completed, the puzzle measures approximately 20" x 13". There is a header that reads "At helm of the Jewish state:" and then has a nice photograph of David Ben Gurion the new President and Moshe Shertok, the new Foreign Minister. There are many other headers that you can read on the puzzle. If you would like to see a transcript and photo of the actual NY Times front page from that day you can at this link: http://www.nytimes.com/learning/general/onthisday/big/0514.html

Although this puzzle is showing the front page from May 15, 1948, I do not know the actual date of production on this puzzle. It was my grandfather's, I only know that he had it for at least 20+ years.
