Quick Overview

Two Families / Zwei Familien / Deux Familles / Dos Familias - World War One Postcard with image by Aloysius Derso and Emery Kelen. Geneva: Women's Disarmament Committee, n.d. (ca 1920s). Authentic First Edition. Color pictorial postcard measures approximately 6" x 4-1/4". Satirical artwork by the prolific political caricature team of Derso & Kelen. The card itself is undated but clearly from the years immediately following the first World War. The satirical cartoon presents the image of a starving post-war family gazing on a row of large mortar shells; a child says, "Look, Mother, how well fed they are!" Both the title and caption are printed in four languages (I believe they are English, French, German, and Spanish). The card is in excellent condition as it has been held in protective plastic for decades!
